I get every single day people I have never spoken with on ICQ who initialize conversations with things like..."Hi." "Hey." "
" and that's it.
Sure tons of it is just spam from the 19 year old "Sarah" from California, but I have investigated further to find out these are real people who want to be potential clients.
If I don't know who you are, if I don't recognize your nick and your first message to me doesn't explain who you are and what you need then you go on ignore.
9 times out of 10 when I initialize a message to someone else on ICQ or request authorization the message will read.

And in the first message it is usually, "Hi this is eroswebmaster from GFY," and then I go on to explain why I am contacting them.
Try it sometime you just might get a quicker response, not just from me but others as well.
