I'll admit I have a thing about shaking hands also. On average I'd say half the guys who go into men's rooms walk out without washing their hands. That just totally grosses me out especially if they've taken a dump and don't wash their hands. WTF??

My mother was a stickler for hygiene and it passed on to me I guess. I don't mind shaking hands, but as soon as I can I get to a bathroom and wash up.

i was hugly sick in vegas and told everyone from a distance to keep away from me. some did - some didn't care and risked several days lost work and came in close to hug me. I was VERY sick and the knew it. I respected both decisions under those circumstances.

it's hard to lie to someone's face without visual cues that any trained salesman usually picks up on. next level is eating with someone, something about it relaxes people - the old breaking bread idea. it's even harder when physical contact is involved. There's something about touching a person.

to me it's about breaking those confortable barriers and getting a quick glimpse at what i consider to be someone's essence. it gives me that 2 second 'feeling' on whether or not I want to do business with them. Ok, I know it can be faked, but it's been a good gague for me and it's done me well so i THINK I'm usually a pretty good judge of character of the people i put to those tests.
