Gem....... don't go slammin on my company there babe.... LOL I work for Vector and have been for a couple of months and have been hosted on Vector for over 6 months and have been down one time for 10 minutes when he upgraded, and got an email from him on that intended downtime.
The $3.80 a gb looks like alot until you go looking at others who charge you a set amount and you get one popmail.... blah blah blah.... BUT
You pay x amount for a flat plan and you don't use all the GB your plan gives you, do they allow you to pay less? I don't think so........ at Vector, you pay ONLY for what you use and the tech and webmaster support is unbeatable and unmatched by anyone else.
I say if you are not getting good tech support or ANY tech support, it is definitely time to look for another host.
What I look for in a host is, in this order
1)Obtainable support.. if it is good and if they are prompt.
2)Uptime..... how is the uptime? If it isn't good then you are getting ripped off.
3)Speed...... speed is a major issue but still comes 3rd with me because if the support and the uptime aren't good then I never make it as far as speed.
If the three of these things are not good then look for someone else.
Don't let the $3.80 a GB scare you off...... as the old saying goes, you get exactly what you pay for.
