I think there's a problem with the code though.

No, the problem is that the crontab on our host went crazy and started to execute all cronjobs (including SigMonkey reset script) non-stop for over a day. So the database was lost...
We are moving to a dedicated server, by the way. We can't take any more of this virtual crap.
