I had also noticed that before, the threads weren't getting any rank - now they do. Could be awhile that it's going on, just never noticed it before.
There was actually a discussion about this awhile back and some 'experts' were saying it has no value - some of us who found threads we were in & knew better disagreed. Would search for that discussion but search doesn't work.
