I'm sure many of their parents were, but some were just too busy with their careers to offer proper guidance I'm sure. Then there are those that had parents that spanked them back in the 60's and 70's, and grew up thinking "No one is going to spank MY precious darlings!"..... so a lot of kids have grown up through the 80's and 90's with no effective discipline or a sense of meaningful consequences for their actions.
True, some did grow up to be pretty great people, but a lot haven't. My parents spanked me when I acted like a shithead as a kid, does that mean they hated me or anything? No, it means they felt the need to teach me that when I did that kind of shit there would be consequences. Not like today where a lot of parents sit there and try to "reason" with a kid like they are some kind of adult or something. Holy shit those people to me are spineless retards.
