hey computer xperts gimme some feedback!

i picked up a pc pretty cheap today, and i have till 2morrow to play with it and if i dont like it i can take it back.. now it runs ok for me, but i dont know much about 'athlons'
my buddy won it off an auction at ubid but he changed his mind and wanted to know if i can buy it off of him..

this is all copied and pasted off the ubid site, so, um are athlons good, or should i stick to a pentium?
