yea i do because to them food becomes a drug and its hard to stop. its more empathy than pity. pity is for someone in a hopeless situation - like a kid with cancer is gonna die - thats pitiful.

good friend of mine has spent over a year now on the atkins diet (but eating very healthily, not just bacon and eggs) and has lost at least 100 lbs, im very proud and happy for him, i can see the life coming back in his eyes
