Smart on one hand but on the other it's also a felony. I really hate to have to say that, since I know people on SSI have a hard time of it. (I know first hand, my old man broke his back before I met him and living on SSI-disability was really hard.) He got the top scale pay from them but it didn't go as far as it should have.
When he asked for re-training they stuck him in college and then when he needed a computer to try and keep up with the work it was a basic F you buddy. He snuck and worked as best he could for a whole summer to get enough to buy one. They found out and would have stuck him in jail but his disability worker lied and said she paid for it for him.
Buy the things yourself and skirt the issue legally. Take them home and then give them to her. Even that can be iffy if she has a nasty caseworker tho.
We need better laws on that sort of thing!!
