I think the question should be "How well do you convert with "xyz" traffic?

A lot of webmasters seem to loose sight of the fact that conversions are impacted more by the traffic source than the program itself. It seems that as soon as conversions go bad the tendency is to blame the program instead of looking a little deeper and analyzing the traffic source.

I can take a program and convert it at 1:500 or better with decent traffic however the same program won't convert for shit with another traffic source.

I'll use our own site (NaughtyAllie) as an example. Here are yesterday's/today's stats on some of the traffic sources we're able to track directly using CCBill trackers. It's pretty clear that the conversions vary widely, ranging from 1:23 to 0:4973 depending on the source of the traffic. All traffic sources are going to the same page, of the same tour, for the same site.

My It's all about the traffic source and it's compatibility with the program!
