I competely agree with Captain P on this one. Here's my story.
I just launched this site, updated it daily, and let it go. Mostly because i had to convert my code from ASP to PHP...so that took a lot of my time. Plus i didnt have time to market the site.
So within the time of moving the code over, the traffic was increasing on it's own. It's been about two months and the site gets about 2500k a day...87% bookmark.
Point is, when i took the site down for a few days to upload the new version, by the end of the day after uploading the new site, i was still above 2000 hits.
That's the power of the bookmark. And from the galleries i submitted to my own TGP, coversions were quite good.
I just started trading traffic recently, just to get new traffic back to my site. But it's not my priority.
My priority is to have a clean site that surfers can call home...and provide content that *converts* to sales.
Captain P understands this....why? Cause it works.
So what does all this bookmark stuff and everything have to do with any of this?
As i said in a previous post way back when, (that fell onto deaf ears as well) if your surfers trust you, they will click on anything you throw in there face.
You'd be surprise how much you can make with 3000 hits a days. Right now i dont have the time to fill my TGP with my own galleries, nor do i need to...i make money from my paysites. But i can only imagine how well it does...since my few experiments on my own TGPs have proven to be very worth it.
So to tie all this shit together, it goes like this. Heres the formula i use.
Bookmarks = surfer trust = clickable surfers = sales = $$$$ (plus if your site goes down, you dont have to rely on traffic from others)
Unfortunately, this take some time to build, but its worth it. I'm not after the quick cash... I'm after the long term stability. If i wasn't making an income from my other ventures in the adult business, i would be posting to my own tgps as well. And if i couldn't post to my own TGP due to lack of time, i would rather take an outside job or something to keep my site clean...cause i know the value of surfer loyalty and the long term stabilty it brings (coming from a paysite conversion point of view)
