Hey Sleazy....

Sorry about the flight situation....that sucks. AirCanada's notorious incompetence coming to light once again. It's beyond me how it is that you paid for a first class ticket, made it to the plane on time, but that they had given away your seat.

For what it's worth...here's the contact info for AirCanada for Customer Solutions. Tell them that if they don't refund you the difference you're going to contact the Consumer Protection Agency. Complain your ass off....you can only send complaints by fax or mail.
