there's a difference. Currently the majority, if not all, of the innovations come from labs operated by companies or institutes. You won't find that many individual scientists for various reasons; financial, technical and so on

Additionally, important innovations take place on daily basis. What we find out today with minimal use, can be next days big thing. One of the most important innovations is fiber optic. Do you know which company was behind it? I bet none here knows. There's a very large numbers of black scientists working in major labs. If black people had equal rights in the past, we would be able to list now more innovations by black people. Egyptians have a shitload of innovations.......and they don't look all white to me
