2.5k isn't that bad.. 2500 overture searches.. and it is specific to australia as opposed to american indians and the like.. put it this way.. i've seen a lot worse for a lot more... and i guess for an ab art collector who would pay 2.5k for a painting.. that much for a domain might not really matter as much as to you or me who knows other ways to play the search engines with those keywords or otherwise get the traffic.
but yeah.. I find the whole business shady.. but it's not as if I wouldn't have done the same in their positions... they should however rent domains out like webfather. I mean why hold onto a 2.5k domain for 4 years and not sell it when you could rent it out at $20 a month or something.

Yeah, I guess anyone would likely do it if they were in their position. However, it is a bit obsessive to say the least. I went for a .org domain which would be very related to an offline business I am taking over (however not that useful to 99% of people). I backordered it days ago with pool.com, and I wake up this morning to find buydomains got it. Damn annoying.
By the way, I sell legitimate aboriginal art. $4000 a piece
