Easy. If there are a half dozen drama threads on message boards about the person then chances are you are better off steering clear. Of course there will be some satisfied customers, if there wasn't he wouldn't have any income at all.
It's too bad there wasn't an easier way to spot the scammers.
Some of the people running these adult messageboards should come up with an ebay-like rating system for people that do business on the boards.
You could tell people you are "GFY approved", and show them all the happy customers that left positive feedback for you in your GFY profile.
