Yep. It works. Keep it up man. About a year ago I gave up fast food(with some relapses, that shit is fucking addictive), switched from regular to diet soda(took a few days to get used to it), switched from real butter to smart balance(which is more expensive but tastes awesome), and started walking 45 minutes to an hour everyday. I didn't wanna feel like I was on a diet because diets don't last. So I don't count calories or anything like that. I've lost weight(slowly but surely) and feel better. Now, if I could only give up the cigarettes.
