CBS has contracts with stations - unless they think the FCC is going to make trouble for them by keeping Howard on he'll have to finish off the last 2 years of his contract even if he doesn't want to. He said yesterday that he'll play records like a regular deejay for the last 2 years if they won't let him do his show the way he wants.

He will go to satellite radio. His options aren't that great - Howard was the flavour of the day for a couple years back around the time his movie came out in the mid 90's. Since then Hollywood has cooled on him. He has a production company with stuff in development like remakes of Rock n Roll High School and Porky's and a cartoon called Young Howard Stern chronicling his miserable childhood and teenage years for SpikeTV. Nothing really major, nothing that is likely going to make him the big money he can make in radio. At one time he had a chance to go up against Leno and Letterman with Fox, he shot a pilot that u can actually get from collectors - but he passed on Rupert Murdoch's offer. Not sure that offer will come again. He recently signed a deal with ABC to do some primetime interview specials a la Barbara Walters.
