Look at it from a rational perspective:
a.) You believe in god, god exists, eternal bliss
b.) You believe in god, god doesn't exist, no consequence
c.) You dont believe in god, god does exist, eternal hell
d.) You dont believe in god, god does not exist, no consequence
So, ya might as well say a couple prayers just to be on the safe side
