Yes. I feel they should get married. I think that people who state that that gays shouldn't marry because they want to protect the "traditional institution of marriage" are full of shit. If the government really wanted to protect the institution of marriage, they would do so by making it harder to get a divorce, or to make it a punishable crime to commit adultery. So that argument does not hold water.

And people who say that marriage should be for "procreation" purposes (I recall some people saying that on this board too) , well, not all straight couples marry with the intention of making a family. Some people never intend to have children ever. And I know a lot of married people who don't have kids and don't plan to either. It all has to do with religious crap , the government is too much influenced by religion and conservatives.

And about kids being ridiculed, who cares about that, it's really not a big deal. My parents are straight and I got picked on in school when I was a kid because I have a very unusual name, and kids used to make fun of it. Plus I grew up in an area where most of the kids were white (and I'm not) and I got called racial slurs all the time, and I turned out fine. There are much worse things that can happen to a kid besides being ridiculed, like being abused or living in poverty. I remeber one kid getting picked on because he wore glasses. Getting picked on is a part of growing up, all kids have to deal with it. If the kid wouldn't get picked on because his parents were gay, then he or she would probably get picked on for something else. That is just life, kids can be cruel.
