For whoever was saying pittbulls make good guard dogs, they really don't. They're not large enough. They're good for fighting other dogs in a confined area, and their abillity to lock their jaws makes them fierce. Pittbulls, however, are not in the "man stopper" class of dogs. These include Rottweilers, Dobermans and German Shepards. They have both the size and intelligence to stop any man in his tracks in an open area.

If I broke in to somebody's warehouse (No I'm not a criminal) I would rather have a pittbull hanging off my arm than a sheppard sitting on my chest.
i totally agree. i have a pitbull but not for a guard dog. pitbulls are extremely people friendly. most people just think they are good guard dogs because other people are scared of them. if someone broke into my house my dog probably wouldnt do anything but try and get the burgler to pet them.
