U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Grant Study

First year study results are predicting a 50%-60% reduction in the initiation of sexual activity among teen students receiving instruction in Choosing the Best, an abstinence focused sex education curricula now being used in over 2,500 school districts in 50 states. The findings were consistent across subgroups (based on gender, ethnicity, and age) and were at least as strong among students with prior sexual experience as among those without prior experience. These results are part of a three-year study being funded by a Special Projects of National and Regional Significance (SPRANS) Grant from the Department of Health and Human Services.
