Couple things come to mind about this thread and CJ(rick).
a) right on the money about lease versus buying license. Buying licensed content gives you teh chance to control how your members see and utilize and interact with your content. We've gone through great lengths to make content that is compatible with your system, provided a mryiad of options and file sizes and such so you can customize it for your users.
Who knows your users better than you? Nobody.
b) A year later, the content you buy licenses for won't be useless. That's a myth. There are new surfers every day, don't we use this argument in every other facet of our industry? Same is true for the pictures and videos they see. They are new to someone, always.
c) CJ is by far the most professional group we've ever dealt with in terms of specifying what they need, on a content deal, and what their technical and functional specs are on a product they pay for.
I wish all companies in this industry had their game together the way rick and co do at cj.
