A pit inaffected by this condition is as friendly as any breed, I had an american Staff Pit, he was the sweetest dog, til he got older. One day when he was about 6 years old, I was walking across my front porch, and he tried to bite me as I walked away, as I had raised this pooch from puppy, I was genuinly concerned that if he was willing to give me a warning bite, then he would likely not spare a stranger from an even worse fate, subsequently I had to have him put to sleep.
