Wizdom, that report was based on some ones estimates of actual homes or whatever connected. Like the rest of the are saying to, you want to build your sites to perform well for perhaps one fifth of the surfer pool? I still can't remember the actual persentage, it shocked me as high, but I was thinking when they first started that they'd say like 5%. So I'm a ditzy redhead!
But I agree with Timinator, hit the newbies for the cash. They are paying 10-20 month to get online so might feel more prone to some extra expenses to justify going online at all!
When I was camming it was usually latenight and I was amazed at the members telling me they snuck out of bed to come chat. Sheesh. Some were still on 14.4's last year. But had hopes to swap a buddy for a 28 or 33 sooner or later. We'll stick with non hi speed people until that percentage hits at least 75%, and then still keep a dialup side to it even then.
