Actually, I'm willing to bet Michael would work with you on a sweetheart deal with 1000 domains. Even without his help you can get quantity discounts - by my calculations they would be $11.25 each (don't hold me to that - my math sucks).
Plus, how many other registrars give you this kind of response?
