We also did a lot of searching on dating and retentions on Google... there are a lot of reliable figures out there on the revenue and stats of Public companies... just search for "dating" +"retention" and stuff like that I'm sure you'll find a lot of figures.
the CTR and free joins on dating ads is better than porn... but when you get a signup to a porn site it's money in your pocket... on dating sites the free join users just browse around... with a small dating operation the costs are lower vs porn sites (as you have to buy content), but in a long perspective it's without a doubt more profitable to build a mega porn site than a mega dating site.
