Are your conversion ratios lower than what they used to be?

It's common practice for the people of our industry to hear that a person needs help and lend a hand. KimmyKim and JJJ both reminded us that recently as they announced the development of new resources for webmasters.

I'd like to add my 2 cents and see if we can't raise our conversion ratios.

Because quite frankly we have nobody to blame but ourselves. Free Sites are cutting their own throats and hurting the rest of us by showing as much as they do. (This is not meant as a diatribe. I'm equally quilty of doing the same thing. This is meant as a call to action - to find a solution, implement, and resolve the problem)

If you don't belief me, I'll illustrate my point. I looked at the first 30 sites listed at a random TGP. (FYI: The Site gest more than 8,000 visitors a day. Posted 181 links yesterday.) With in those first 30 sites were 496 images. Then I set up standards to judge the images. (some images contained two elements such as tits and bush, if they did it was tallied under the higher of the two classes.) The categories were
NoNudity (4%),
Tits (11%),
Ass (5%),
Bush (12%),
CloseUp Anal (1%),
CloseUp Vaginal (9%),
Hardcore (blowjobs/penetration) (58%).

This one example illustrates that around 68% (Roughly Two-Thirds) of the content that Free Sites distribute is of a graphic nature. This is content that people would pay for, if they HAD to. It's no wonder that Conversion Ratios are lower than what they used to be.

For a while I believed that there wasn't anything that could be done about this. I guess I had one of those sobering moments today in the shower.... and thought "Hell, since we all work together on a daily basis if the idea is good enough it will spread like a wild fire."

What I am proposing... and I'd like feedback from anybody with an opion.... is that we set a new standard for the listings that we will post... afterall they were called "money shots" for a reason...

The more network of sites that adopt this the better off we'll all be... I'd especially like to hear comments from leaders/members of Thumblords, PornLords, SexClicks, NCAW, and other affiliated groups.
