One of our favorite subjects . . .

Ok first yes. About every 6 months or even less a better camera is going to come along, but that's just something you deal with.

The link that Jer just posted to dpreview is good. Also check http://www.dcresource.com

Right now we've got a Kodak DC290 and a Nikon 990. Placed an order today for the Olympus E100RS - it's a one of a kind camera right now. Fastest on the market.

If you want the very best quality and price isn't an option, go with the Olympus E10. But unless you're printing your photos, it's not necessary to buy something like that at all.

If I had bought any other camera today other than the one I did it would have been the Canon G1 or maybe the Olympus 3040. Both are under $1000 and do great stuff.

Hmmmmm . . . now even those cameras offer way more resolution than you really need if all you are doing is web photos. If that's what you want (and action shots aren't what you'll be taking) then there are a ton of cameras 2 megapixels or so that are really good and not expensive at all. Basically, stick with the good camera makers . . . you can't go wrong with Olympus, Nikon, Kodak.
