We aren't converting cuz they're too clean? That is hilarious considering that the vast majority of them reject you for not being clean enough. It is soooooo hard to make money at TGPs as is without, as many have said before, all of the strict rules. They tell us which hosts we can or can't use, which sponsors, how many text links, no text links, no banners, only banners, proportions of pics to banners, no blind links, yes to blind links, blah, blah, blah. And the difference in rules between them are staggering.
Unless we want to just submit to one TGP, and according to them, we may only submit one, every day or two, than we must design for the lowest common denominator.
And now they are started to charge us to place us in a position that we even have a chance at making money? It's getting out of hand. I have fairly strong feelings about how to make cash in this biz (doesn't mean I am yet LOL), and TGPs just don't add up to me.
Having said that, If I change my mind and continue to try, which I most likely will (hate quitting anything till I'm succesful at it LOL), hope you won't hold this little rant against me, I'm not talking about you specifically, just the genre in general.
I know that your's is more lenient than most and I thank you for that, but....
If we are, as you stated, to buy higher quality material (a lot of money for TGPs) and more ads that we know are going to get rejected by most than where does that leave us? Like most of the time...in the hole.
We already provide them with content and supply the bandwidth. That should be enough.
I understand that they want their surfers to be pleased, but shit, do we really need to pleasing free loaders? Shouldn't we just be teasing them into going for their wallets?
