There are a hell of a lot of quality sites out there that pay 50-65% recurring and focus on keeping the members happy and recurring rather than focusing on upselling the shit out them.
In my (limited) experience you wind up getting $35-$40 per member this way, so throw in _some_ upsells/cross sells and probably some shaving
and you have a nice little piece of business.
