Don't blame guns, blame the media. These outcast children are just dying for attention... from their parents, from their peer groups, from anyone. When they don't get it through normal channels, they resort to what they know best: TV. The media beats these tragedies to death, asking over and over again: "how did this middle-class white boy go bad?" It's not news, its sensationalism for sensationalism's sake. These kids equate being on TV with hero status. Since Columbine, even the most marginal adolescent knows he or she can gain instant fame just by pulling the trigger. Shame on the media for encouraging this behaviour.
