Banning guns won't work. Sure the law abiding citizens will turn their guns in, but do you think the criminals will? I think not.
Look what happened in Australia, they banned guns and crime has gone up. It's like giving the bad guys the go ahead since they know the homeowner that they are robbing won't have a gun to defend his home.
I believe there should be a mandatory 7 day waiting period and mandatory safety training.
and that means parents need to implement gun safety in the home, if they are going to keep one.
I used to be very anti-gun, but I see the need to be able to defend one's home and taking away the second amendment leads the way for the government to take away our other rights. (and when that happens, how will you defend yourself from the government?)
