You may feel a little scared now, and there may be a lot of shit to go through, but if you'll open your heart up to that kid and hold nothing back you'll soon wonder why you waited so long.

There is NOTHING in the world better than having a good relationship with your own flesh and blood. Every single stage of their life is so special. My own son is the light of my life. He's only 4 years old right now. Every stage he goes through is so beautiful. I'm always saddened in a way when he outgrows some cute thing he does. But then the next stage is just as cute.

I've even started an online journal to him where I put my thoughts toward him out there for him to read when he's old enough.

Fathers need to put aside the macho attitude when it comes to kids. I hold nothing back from my son. I am very vulnerable to him.

He once almost choked on food. I started freaking out. Fortunately his mother (my ex) was there and was cool headed. She just did what needed to be done. Immediately afterward I started bawling like a baby. I was SO DAMN SCARED.

But I have never in my life experienced greater love. Ever. I never knew it was possible to love this much.

Open yourself up to this new baby and you'll see what I mean.

that's pretty cool...

I've been making a video diary from the 4 or 5 months leading up to my daughter's birth (she's 3 weeks old now) and continuing on for a while... I plan on giving it to her when she turns 16
