Lets say someone buys it for 10k and makes a paysite out of it, i for one would spend the 10k on content and 7 bucks on a name. I mean people sign up for the content, not for the name. And usually people visit your paysite once and either like it or dont. They dont have to remember the name.
The name is good for a site that makes people come back, like a tgp or something but then again, why spend 10k on a name while you can pick up a easy to remember name on godaddy for 7 bucks. The surfer really doesnt give a rats ass how much you paid for it.

I've bought names for alot more and I can honestly say I've made 10 times more on revenue alone than I've spent on domains. And I still own most of them.
Domainers know that good domains are like oil wells - they produce income without the work

And if you happen to develop a site for the name, that's even better.
