I wasn't putting this industry back by anything I said. I look at all of us as proprietors of 'shops'. Hmmmm, ok
Parents can't have their kids in eyeshot every waking moment. They go off on their own adventures, net or RT. So if on this adventure, they wander into a gun store, the proprietor has to deal with it. Sure, the parents probably told them not to every do that, but....
I guess I don't think with my wallet in my hand first. As adults we all have a job to do tho. I was brought up in the time when a neighbor saw me screw up, they'd paddle my ass as well as tell my mom. lol We didn't carry guns, we didn't peddle drugs and we sat giggling when I found my big brothers Playboy.
I know that time is gone. Have ethics, responsibilities and all that go with it gone too? I hope not. The laws? We aren't going to stop them from happening. We're going to have to try and work out a medium ground and the sooner we all work on that the better. Or else the laws that happen will be a lot more restrictive. Don't let them totally dictate to us. If the powers that be see that we are making an effort it may go better for us. I'd rather see income coming in ten years from now then sitting back and whining about what I 'used to make'.
I guess thats from a female, ex dancers point of view. I wasn't a stripper but I knew them well. Worked right next to a place in fact. And do ya know, on good nights in 1989, *I* made 600 bucks. The strippers were lucky to pull 200. Average nights were 150-200 while the strippers were at 50-100. The imagination is the most powerful sale tool we have.
Oh well there will always be the uncaring people in any trade. It takes time but they will always be weeded out so more can take their place. lol The old man and I plan to be here when the ones that don't follow the unwritten rule are gone. Look how well Lens does and I certainly don't see him wagging the nasties out and about for all to see freely. He's playing a well thought out plan ahead of the game. <S> We had that same basic idea when we first came back in to the field.
Hookers use the same rule. Up front or no candy gets unwrapped. We have to play that abit different and entice surfers abit different since we can't spray phermones or be close enough for them to feel the body heat. Why pay to see a baseball game AFTER you're leaving?
Lets just hope after some folks have their own kids they see the same things. Grabbing the money and running nets you a short term position.
Gem hops off her soap box now. And yes, the next time I see the kid across the street playing with daddys 9mm in the yard will get involved. Its my duty as a human. Even if I *am* abit warped in the moral depts. lol
