Neither will clean the air, they only maintain the moisture in the air. If your worried about mold growth get a Dehumidifer. Pay the extra $ ( $1300 @ dryez or your local janitorial suppier ) and get one that is self contained, Ie.. it has a drain line that you can place in any drain. I own a restoration business and we mitigate against water and mold damage. You can monitor the humidy with a hygromiter (sp) you can by one @ radio shack for around $20 buck. Hope that helps
