from what I've seen it's always a good idea to go way low with the compression or you'll fuck up the motor. I work with Honda/Acura motors and when I've added boost of any kind I drop the compression to like 9:1 or so.

For N/A high compression is king. For boost the lower the better.
Drivability isn't really an issue till you get way up in the boost. I had a 27psi 1.8L B18 for about 3 years before any MAJOR problems. I had to change the oil about every 1200-1500 miles and always seemed to get oil leaks but it was way cool having it.
