You can get plenty of protein as a Vegan. It's just not animal protein.
But if you consume dairy products you aren't vegan you're ... wtf is it?... laco-vegetarain? or ovo-vegetarian? I can't remember what they call dairy eating vegetarians. Dairy eating vegetarian sounds good though

Btw.. I edited the post above because the way it was arrange, made it sound like I was agreeing with the dairy industry tests saying people should consume more dairy.
