Fair enuuff - it probably (definitely?) wouldn't stand up in a court of law.
But.... when you look at all the circimstantial evidence and the dodgy history of "research" conducted - especially well documented in the area of psychology - most people would agree that doctors are not to be trusted unless they can prove 100% completely that they have no links with drug companies.
There surely are some doctors that are honest and unbiased. But you'd have to wonder why any sane individual should start doing trials on (for example) apple cider vinegar when there's *no money* in it. The doctor would have to pay out of his own pocket, and it's just never gonna happen.
And the apple growers (by the way) make far more $$$ selling the apples rather than the vinegar
