I remember when I would say to my dysfunctional intoxicated dad
"Hey dad I fell & my knee hurts..."
and he would give me a hit in the arm and say
"There! Your knee doesn't hurt as bad now huh?"
That's how I view mainstream medicine -- except they send you a huge bill after that sock in the arm.
