...have anything break on your computer?
I'm stuck on dialup here and now when I try to connect to the net by starting IE it gives me a "no internet connection is available" error. I have to go to network connections and manually click my ISP to connect.
Basically I am having the same problems as this guy, but since I don't use DSL the solution suggested to him doesn't work for me:

I scanned for viruses and nothing turned up. No other changes were made in the last week besides running windows update yesterday.
It installed 3 critical patches for me.
If that's not it, know of anything else it could be?
I checked my internet options to make sure it is set to dial a connection when one is not present, same as always, even deleted my ISP connection and installed it again. Looked through all my network properties and everything looks OK to me.
Any ideas?
