Since I work on non-adult stuff all day and then adult stuff all night, I can write HTML in my sleep and even while showering. Cutting and pasting makes life very easy and although not using WYSIWYG's means a lot more typing, my pages are as small in file size as possible because I don't have any extra/useless tags in my coding.
As an experiment at work one day, I had the graphic designer make a page using Dreamweaver. When she was done, I took the same page and re-wrote it by hand. The resultant file size was 40% smaller.
Now you might think that a few kilobytes doesn't really make all that much difference, but think of it this way: Suppose the same gallery gets listed on Hun, AL4A, Thumbnailpost, Worldsex, Ampland, Thumbzilla, Richard's Realm and a few other big name tgp's. You're looking at well over 100,000 page loads, right? Hmmm.... 100,000 times, say, 5k. That's 500,000 kilobytes or 500 Meg. Now multiply that by however many galleries you might list during the month.
I know, I know. Maybe the savings doesn't add up to the overall aggravation of having to learn ALL the HTML codes, but I'm broke, so learning is something I can afford to and spending money when I don't have to is not.
*phew*
Can I go home, open my fridge and open a beer now? LOL
