In case you didn't know, it used to cost per minute to use a land line telephone like a cellphone does now. There are still parts of the US and alot of the EU that still charges per minute.
The use of cell phones in Europe is epidemic. Everybody's yapping all the time. If they stop charging per minute, it will go totally berserk.
