How's your health (blood pressure/cholesterol)

I'm almost 30 and went in to get some tests on me because my family has a high blood pressure history in it and every time I check my blood pressure, it's always like in the 140s over 90s. My doctor checked it and the history of my blood pressure checks and said that it was a bit too high for what she'd like it to be, so she set me up with some hydrochlorot.

I also got some blood work to check my cholesterol and just got the results. They said that my normal colesterol was 211 which it should be 200, my good colestorerol was a little low, but that my triglycerides were up to 794 when they should be under 400, which they said greatly increases my chances of a heart attack, so I have 2 options, to take Lipitor or I can try to eat better and exercise to try to get it down on my own. I'm gonna try it on my own because I heard some BAD things about Lipitor.

Anyways, I guess that my point to this thread or question to ask all of you is this, are any of you in the same health situation ?? I'm only 30 and it seems kinda odd to be like this, but I suppose if it's in my family, I'm destined to run into it.
