FrontPage extensions are really useful, ONLY IF you use Microsoft FrontPage for web development. Makes uploading pages really easy, because you save right to your site.
BUT, it does clutter up a bit with extra folders (which who gives a shit about that) AND, the most important thing is that FrontPage has it's OWN file permissions on your server... so if you create and upload a page using FrontPage, you can't just FTP over it... and if you want to remove FrontPage, you have to have the file permissions all changed.
All in all, if you use FrontPage for editing, use the FrontPage extensions, so you get some of the plug and play wizards. But if you don't use FrontPage for web design, you don't need the FrontPage extensions.
Remember, though, if you do have the extensions turned on, it's no big deal not to use them.
