One reason I hate going to get my hair cut is because I have a bit of natural curl to my hair that hair stylists always have to drool over. Sometimes they call the other ladies over to take a look. It's embarassing, so I prefer to go to a barber than one of the chains. There was a barber in the little town I used to live in...like 65-70 years old...very little small talk...10 minute hair cut...and he shaved the back of your neck with one of those prehistoric blades. I miss that guy.

I acutally have my wife shave my head with the clippers to avoid beauty shops.

I think women should tip more for a haircut because they are there a hell of a lot longer than guys. A woman might be at the beauty shop for hours getting her hair washed, dyed, cut, styled, permed, etc. My hair cuts take 10 minutes at the most.
