popular vote is irrelevant, electoral college is there for a reason, and I don't seem to recall anyone complaining about it before the 2000 election.

the problem was, not only with the recounts but in some areas the election stations were closed down early... it happened in several lower income areas. These were places that probally would have voted more for Gore than Bush... There was a lot more then just chaffed chads going on in the florida election.

It should have been a total revote.
