I don't really care for the Kanapali or Lahaina areas. Hana is nice if you want quiet.

Head over to Lower Paia if you want to score any fun party favors.

Good suggestions. The Kealani is a fairmont hotel and is really nice. I got engaged there. We did not have a villa but the rooms are realy nice as well. The villas each come with your own dipping pool. Pretty cool. This, the Grand Wailea and the Four Seasons are beside each other and all are nice. Be sure to visit Mamas Fish House just north of Paia for a great dinner.

Lahaina and Kanapali are a lot more touristy in my opinion then Wailea. Wailea is a lush luxury resort area. Great golf at the blue and gold wailea courses and Makena course is just down the raod. Many a PGA and Seniors tour skins game have been played on these courses. Great snorkelling and diving in the area especially out at Molkini.
