It was said in jest by one party to another. But after it was said, and the offender was gone. The anger and just how fucked up the situation was just really got to me. I could see directly the effects of "harmless joking". I could see first hand that there was nothing funny about it.
But like others on this board, I'm starting to understand the importance of freedom of speech.
I may not agree with it at all. I do indeed feel we need to be able to say what we want, when we want.
That being said, why not then, lift the ban on words that are not nearly as offensive. cunt, ashcroft... are there more?
