i used to promote it heavily... from my experience, it doesn't look like they shave. if they DO, then it's maybe 1% at MOST (so i HIGHLY doubt it).

money....yes, the toolbar has a potential to make some SERIOUS bling.

back in the paris hilton fiasco, i paid a dude 50$ to post my popup code cause he was getting 300K uniques per day... mind you, the pop up was only up for about an hour and a half, and i made triple what i paid him.

the downside: it pisses alot of people off, and sometimes, depending on the clients innet permissions, will auto install WITHOUT prompting the user. i caught quite a bit of hatemail from that.

all in all, if you don't give a fuck about your visitors, post the shit outta the toolbar.... if you want respectable traffic... be wary when posting. i only leave it on my 404 page these days.
